Module 7: Western Australian government

Learning Objectives:

  • Knowledge of relevant policies
  • Define policy objectives, requirements and noncompliance penalties
  • Project teams are able to adequately negotiate and manage contracts that apply Government procurement policies
  • Explain Keller’s processes and tools available to delivering contracts under WA procurement policies
  • Apply Keller’s processes and tools in practice to tender, negotiate contracts, track targets and report outcomes under the policies
  • Leverage on social impact capability to win future contracts and clients with similar values

The Western Australia Social Procurement Framework sets the rules government agencies must follow when buying goods and services. It includes both mandatory requirements and advisory guidance to help agencies make smart, fair, and responsible purchasing decisions.

Their social economic objectives are applied through three key policies:

  • Buy Local Policy
  • Aboriginal Procurement Policy
  • Priority Start Policy

This module will provide practical steps to plan, deliver and report to comply with these policies.
